The Legislature recognizes both the need to make Louisiana a better environment in which to do business and the complexities of the existing sales and use tax system. It is the intention of the Legislature to provide taxpayers with a simple, efficient, and cost effective means of transmitting accurate sales and use tax returns and remittances to political subdivisions of the state from a central site in the quickest manner possible.[R.S. 47:337.23(C) and (G)(1)]. The following committee members were appointed by Governor Blanco to guide this effort.

  • Mark West, Gonzales - Representative of local governmental subdivisions, chair of the advisory committee
  • Roy L. Austin, New Orleans - Representative of Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants
  • Cynthia Boudreaux, Napoleonville - Representative of Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators
  • Cynthia Bridges, Baton Rouge - Secretary of the Department of Revenue
  • Henri Louapre, New Orleans - Representative of Business
